The holdings of the Styrian Federal Archives are divided into two big groups:

Provincial Archives	State Archives
Estates Archives (until 1925)	Inner Austrian Central Administration
Provincial Government (from 1926 onward), District Administrations (from 1924 onward)	Representation and Chamber, Gubernium, Ethnarchy
In-Between Archives (Provincial Government and District Administrations)	District Offices, District Authorities, District Committees, District Administrations (until 1923)
Provincial Department of Construction, Provincial Hospital, Provincial Rail	Archives of Mining and Forestry
Archives of Corporate Bodies and Private Archives	Mail and School Archives
Collections	Court Archives
	Finance Archives and Cadastres
