The Department for Project Management - Rural Road Construction:
- is responsible for funding construction and rehabilitation measures on higher-level rural roads under the Municipal Road Maintenance Programme (Gemeindestraßenerhaltungsprogramm).
- is responsible for providing funding contributions to municipalities for investments in railway level crossings on municipal roads in accordance with Section 29 (3) of the Austrian Fiscal Equalisation Act 2024 (FAG 2024).
- carries out project preparation activities for municipalities in the area of municipal road rehabilitation, including planning and surveying work, route studies and technical measurements.
